The Municipality of Marghita implements in partnership with the Municipality of Berettyóújfalu in Hungary the project ROHU-359 "Promoting an integrated approach to improving employment and business development in the micro-regions of Marghita and Berettyóújfalu" in the period 01.05.2020 - 31.12.2023. The project is financed by the INTERREG V-A Romania-Hungary Programme, Priority Axis 3, Specific Objective 8b and has a total value of 2.619.494 Euro, of which 1.689.494 Euro for Marghita Municipality and 930.000 Euro for Berettyóújfalu Municipality. The overall objective of this project is to improve the employment rate and the business environment in the micro-regions of Marghita and Berettyoujfalu. This project will have a very important effect by setting up sustainable short food supply chains, multiplied in the cross-border areas between Marghita and Berettyóújfalu. We will thus have local agriculture and agri-food products better integrated into cross-border value market chains. Throughout history, Marghita has been a hub for traders and farmers in the area, which is important for the development of our community. In 1376 Marghita began to organise fairs, which led to the town's development. Another important result of this project is the elaboration of the Employment Strategy for the Marghita and Berettyóújfalu micro-regions, as well as the elaboration of the Technical Project for the building of the Training Centre for Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Marghita.Even more so, we wanted to provide substantial support to those directly involved in this field. Through this project, the agri-food market in the town will be modernised, local agricultural producers will have optimal conditions for selling their products and the inhabitants of Marghita will have access to fresh agricultural products. This will be possible after the construction of the Agricultural and Agro-Food Entrepreneurship and Training Centre in Marghita, financed by this project. The work is ongoing and will be completed next year.
